Spray Tan

Designed to make you feel fantastic

Spray tanning is a form of self tanning (or sunless tanning) where a fine mist is sprayed onto your body. This mist has an ingredient in it called Dihydroxyacetone (DHA) that interacts with your own skin’s chemistry to turn it tan, or bronze.

Tips for Tanning

Remove unwanted hair

Try to shave or wax at least 24 hours before your spray tan. This will allow your follicles to close up, ensuring that your tan looks balanced, even and natural.

The night before your tan exfoliate your skin with a gentle exfoliator or scrub to slough off the top layer of dead skin cells. Removing these cells will reveal the fresh skin cells beneath, which will form the smooth base that your spray tan will stick to. The fresher your skin cells, the longer the life of your tan – it’s as simple as that.

Avoid perfumes, moisturisers and deodorant on the day of your tan because some of the chemicals found in these products can prevent fake tan from adhering to the skin smoothly.  Please bring along some loose clothing, like a baggy t-shirt or dress, to wear after your session, which will allow for your freshly applied tan to dry thoroughly.

Rinse off the remaining colour with luke warm water.  Let the water run clear
Check your product labels and avoid any that contain alpha hydroxy acids (AHA’s), as they can strip colour.
Avoid swimming pools as the chlorine will prematurely fade your tan.
Moisturising is key because the better condition your skin is in, the longer your tan will last.
Five to seven days after your spray tan, exfoliate your skin and repeat this every two days thereafter to ensure that your tan fades evenly.
